Welcome to Our New Member: Jewish Community of Belgrade, Serbia
We are pleased to welcome the Jewish Community of Belgrade as a new member of the ECJC network. As the central institution of Jewish communal life in Belgrade the Jewish Community of Belgrade is dedicated to strengthening Jewish life, safeguarding identity, and preserving Jewish tradition and culture. The Community offers a rich range of programs for all generations—from weekly clubs and educational initiatives for children and youth to cultural events, social gatherings, and leadership opportunities for adults. Its vibrant cultural life is enriched by institutions such as the amateur theatre King David and the Serbian-Jewish Singing Society “Braća Baruh,” one of the oldest Jewish choirs in the region. Alongside cultural and educational activities, the Community maintains strong social support and healthcare programs, while actively contributing to the civic and cultural life of Belgrade through partnerships with local and national institutions. By nurturing Jewish heritage, fostering engagement across generations, and building for the future, the Jewish Community of Belgrade exemplifies the resilience and vitality of Jewish communities in Europe. We are delighted to welcome the Jewish Community of Belgrade to ECJC and look forward to working together to strengthen Jewish life across our continent.
