Member Spotlight – Delegation of Maccabi-Ukraine at the XXII Maccabiah Games in Israel
On 1 July 2026, Israel officially welcomed thousands of athletes for the opening of the XXII Maccabiah Games, widely known as the Jewish Olympics. This year’s Games have brought together more than 8,000 athletes from approximately 55 countries, competing across 45 sports in one of the largest celebrations of Jewish sport and international unity. Among the participants is our member, Maccabi Ukraine delegation, proudly represented by 50 athletes from cities across Ukraine, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi. The team is competing in a wide range of disciplines, including swimming, judo, karate, wrestling, athletics, gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, fencing, tennis, and table tennis. The ECJC extends its best wishes to all athletes taking part in this year’s Maccabiah Games. We celebrate their dedication, resilience, and commitment to strengthening Jewish connections through sport, and wish them every success throughout the competition.
