Welcome to Our New Member: Hesed Yehuda, Moldova

We are pleased to welcome Hesed Yehuda from Chișinău, Moldova, as a new member of the ECJC network! Established in 1996, Hesed Yehuda has been supporting Jewish community members across Moldova for nearly three decades, providing social, humanitarian, cultural and educational services to more than 2,000 registered beneficiaries. The organisation provides vital support to older adults, Holocaust survivors, people with disabilities, families facing difficult circumstances and other vulnerable community members. Its work includes home care, food and medical assistance, financial and psychosocial support, active ageing programs, and services that help reduce isolation and strengthen social inclusion. Hesed Yehuda also plays an important role in Jewish cultural and community life, organising holiday celebrations, Shabbat gatherings, educational programs, cultural events and intergenerational activities. Its commitment to Holocaust remembrance is reflected in its work supporting and developing memorial sites in Moldova and promoting education and historical memory. Following the war in Ukraine, Hesed Yehuda has also supported refugees and displaced people, while continuing to develop partnerships with government institutions, international organisations and civil society. We look forward to welcoming Hesed Yehuda into the ECJC network, learning from its extensive experience, and creating new opportunities for collaboration, exchange and stronger Jewish communities across Europe.
