14 ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF JEWISH SOCIAL WELFARE

GOING BEYOND THE CRISIS - NEW TRENDS

The focus of the Conference will primarily be on what we had learnt as to how to support clients in times of social isolation, identifying the main challenges that the crisis has created in terms of services and how we are dealing with the new and unexpected situation with the goal of being ready to continue delivering services which can respond to the new trends that are here to stay.

The transition to virtual service delivery for mental health services in response to  COVID has revolutionized the manner in which this traditional “face to face service” is offered.

We heard the experiences of two mental health professionals leading their Jewish communities through this transition.

Topics covered included the technical, legal, clinical and financial implications, as well as the impact on therapists and thoughts on how this transition has affected the stigma often associated with accessing care.

With participation of over 167 professionals in the field of care of Shoah Survivors, we held our second Transatlantic Zoom Conversation on September 30th.

Presenters from the United States and the United Kingdom had led fantastic sessions on the care of Shoah Survivors during COVID and the innovative work being held by the Holocaust Survivors Center from Jewish Care in London with the Second Generation.

Participants could enjoy both presentations and a short time of questions and answers with the presenters, while exchanging expertise among the participants.

SAFETY FIRST

With the help of Aryeh Goldberg, Training Director of Planning for Safety, ECJC has delivered two extremely useful zoom sessions addressed to Schools, Communities, Synagogues and Offices on How to prepare the venue to minimize the risk of exposure to the virus.

In these difficult times, when some legislations are being relaxed and some "in person" interaction or activities are permitted, is key to be able to keep our venuessafe and is our role to accompany our affiliated with the task of delivering activities in a safe space

There will be more sessions shortly. Keep tuned
