1. About us

1.1. We are ECJC, the European Council of Jewish Communities and we own and operate this website (“Site”).

2. This Policy

2.1. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We ask that you read this privacy policy carefully as it contains information about what to expect when ECJC collects personal information about you and how ECJC will use your personal data.


3. The information we collect about you

3.1. We may collect and process the following data about you.

3.1.1. Information that you provide to ECJC through your membership of ECJC or by registering and participating to any of our different programmes. This includes information provided at the time of registration to the different seminars, conferences, workshops and any information subsequently provided.

3.1.2. If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

3.1.3. We may also occasionally ask you to complete surveys that we use for research and feedback purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.

3.1.4. Details of activities you participate.

3.1.5. Details of your visits to the Site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own purposes and the resources that you access.

3.1.6. Information that you provide to us for the purposes of paying your annual membership fees or for the attendance of events including payment details.

3.2. We may receive information about you from other sources, such as your organisation’s website which we will add to the information which we already hold about you in order to help us deliver focus and targeted communication.

3.3. Our server may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for Site monitoring. This is statistical data about our visitors’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.


4. How we will use the information about you

4.1. We use information held about you in the following ways:

4.1.1. to provide you with news and other information relevant to our activities, events and related matters which we consider may be of interest to you or your organisation;

4.1.2. to invite you to advise or represent us or third parties, or to manage any of our projects or seminars;

4.1.3. to ensure that content from the Site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.

4.2. Email campaigns we send you will always give you the chance to opt out of receiving further emails.

4.3. We may also use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring Site usage in order to help us to develop the Site and our services. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify you.


5. Disclosure of your information

5.1. We may disclose your personal information only with partners from the different activities and programmes and never for any commercial proposal.

5.2. We may disclose your personal information to third parties if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or where necessary to protect the rights or interests of ECJC or their respective officers or members.

5.3. We may use carefully selected data processors to process information on our behalf, such as an email service to email newsletters to our members. Third parties to which we transfer your information are only authorised to use that information to fulfil their contractual obligations to us and will not be permitted to use it for any other purpose. We retain full responsibility for how your personal information may be used by our agents.

5.4. Where you have made an enquiry or request we will use your information only for the purposes of servicing your needs. We may share details that are reasonable and relevant to carry out this task.

5.5. Save as above, we will neither sell your personal information, nor (save with your consent) transfer or otherwise disclose it, to any third party.


6. Information security

6.1 Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Site, any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.


7. Links to other websites

7.1. The Site contains links to other ECJC websites done with the purpose of registration. This privacy policy applies to all these Sites so if you follow a link to any of these internal websites, they share the same privacy policies.


8. Access to your information

8.1. You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please send an email to paris@ecjc.org.

8.2. We want to ensure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. If any of the information that you have provided to ECJC changes, for example if you change your email address, please let us know the correct details by sending an email to paris@ecjc.org with the subject- Please update my records


9. Your consent

9.1. By submitting your personal information you consent to the use of that information as set out in this policy.

 

10. Changes to privacy policy

10.1. We will keep our privacy policy under regular review. If we change our privacy policy we will post the changes on this page. This privacy policy was last updated on 25 May 2018.
