ECJC Board Meeting in Vienna: Shaping the Future Together

July 13 2026

On June 8–9, 2026, the ECJC Executive Board came together in Vienna to shape our priorities and focus areas for the next two years. Building on the momentum of the ECJC Summit – and, most importantly, on the needs and aspirations of our member communities across Europe – we are charting the path ahead together. By communities, for communities is more than a tagline; it is the principle that guides our work.

Our discussions focused on strengthening leadership, building resilient communities, expanding opportunities for learning and connection, and fostering vibrant Jewish life across Europe. We were privileged to work alongside an exceptional group of lay leaders from the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Hungary, Serbia, and Poland. Their diverse perspectives, commitment, and passion continue to shape ECJC’s vision and strengthen our collective impact. Together, we are turning ideas into meaningful programs, creating new opportunities, and building stronger Jewish communities across Europe.

We were also honored to be welcomed by the local Jewish community in Vienna and sincerely thank Oskar Deutsch, President of IKG Vienna, Benjamin Nägele, CEO of IKG, Board Member Mimi Brownstone, and representatives of EZRA for hosting us and sharing valuable insights into their important communal and welfare work. These exchanges reinforced the value of peer learning and collaboration across communities.

A special thank you to Michel Montreuil for his facilitation and strategic guidance, and to our partners at JDC, represented by Julia Dandolova, for contributing to these important discussions. The roadmap is taking shape. The work continues – and we look forward to what comes next.
