November 30 2025

Our Director, Taly Mair attended the Claims Conference Social Welfare Workshop in Amsterdam on November 17-18, 2025, representing the European Council of Jewish Communities (ECJC). The workshop, focused on “Strengthening Care for Survivors in Times of Uncertainty,” provided a valuable platform to connect with representatives from numerous ECJC member organizations, including ZWST (Germany), Casip Cojasor (France), the Jewish Community of Athens (Greece), Dutch Jewish Social Services – JMW, Service Social Juif Brussels (Belgium), VSJF (Welfare Organization of Switzerland), Shalom Bulgaria, AJR (UK), and more. She engaged in discussions about critical issues like strategies for sustaining home-based care with insights from Karene Fredj of CASIP and others, confronting antisemitism moderated by Charles Rose, Senior Program Officer, Claims Conference, and exploring innovative approaches to survivor psychological support. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about the Claims Conference’s response in Israel for survivors, presented by Yaron Markus, Manager, Social Welfare Programs, Claims Conference, and hear from Greg Schneider, Executive Vice President, Claims Conference. The workshop facilitated important networking and knowledge-sharing to improve care for Holocaust survivors.
