New Associate- The European March of the Living

December 21 2025

We welcome The European March of the living as our new associate. Their mission is to strengthen and expand a community of engaged European citizens—especially young people—who actively stand against racism, antisemitism, antiziganism, xenophobia, hate speech, and all forms of intolerance, both at national and EU levels. Through remembrance, education, and civic engagement, the initiative seeks to empower individuals to respond to hatred with knowledge, responsibility, and action, fostering a shared European commitment to democratic values and human dignity. The initiative focuses on increasing the participation of young Europeans in the International March of the Living and ensuring that the voices of the last Holocaust witnesses are heard and carried forward by a new generation of “witnesses,” inspired by Elie Wiesel’s words: “When you listen to a witness, you become a witness.” It aims to engage European citizens and March of the Living alumni in long-term action, identify and support young people committed to preserving Holocaust memory, and strengthen the European March of the Living Network by reinforcing partnerships, communication, and shared best practices. A key priority is also to build a community of dedicated teachers and educators who exchange experience and enhance the impact of Holocaust remembrance and education for future generations.
