New Member – The Jewish Turkish Community of the Netherlands (JTB)
The Jewish Turkish Community of the Netherlands (JTB) is an officially established community representing approximately 450 Jews of Turkish origin, primarily based in the Netherlands. Rooted in Sephardic Jewish traditions and customs, JTB works to preserve cultural heritage while actively supporting integration into Dutch society. The organization serves as a social, cultural, and communal platform where members come together through social gatherings, cultural activities, and religious holiday celebrations shaped by Sephardic customs. These activities strengthen community bonds while encouraging openness, participation, and connection with the wider Dutch Jewish landscape. JTB places strong importance on being an active and constructive partner within Dutch Jewish society, engaging with other communities and institutions through dialogue, cooperation, and shared initiatives. At the same time, it acts as a bridge between Jewish communities in Turkey and the Netherlands. With a growing and engaged membership, JTB aims to contribute positively to communal life, social cohesion, and the long-term continuity of Sephardic Turkish Jewish heritage in the Netherlands.
